a Garmin shop ranking on page 1- was Jura’s leak with INSTINCT 3 deliberate?

How Jura Watches Might Have Cracked the Code to Rank on Page 1 for Garmin Searches

In an intriguing turn of events, Jura Watches appears to have stumbled upon—or perhaps strategically devised—a clever method to dominate Google rankings for new Garmin watch releases.

The tactic? Leverage the power of organic backlinks generated by the Garmin rumour mill. By “accidentally leaking” the existence of the Garmin Instinct 3, Jura Watches has inadvertently fueled conversations on platforms like Reddit and this site, where eager enthusiasts and tech insiders have linked back to the retailer’s website. These high-quality backlinks have catapulted Jura Watches to prime positions on Google’s search results, at least for now.

For instance, a search for “Garmin Instinct 3 buy” sees Jura Watches ranking first, just behind Garmin’s official website. Even with a broader query like “Garmin Instinct 3,” the retailer secures an excellent spot on the first page, sitting at 8th place.

Well. I wouldn’t like to say but I’m sure regular readers here can guess.

  1. I’d say this is just conspiracy theory stuff. Jura are a well-respected UK online retailer of mid-premium (generally £5k+) watches whose relative income from Garmin sales is likely to be minimal, and certainly not worth risking their reputation with Garmin and other higher-end manufactures for the sake of a few pre-orders over. I’m honestly surprised that Jura even carry the Instinct, as they initially stocking with just the original Garmin MARQ (at Garmin’s pushing, as using retailers like Jura gave Garmin the premium association that they wanted for the MARQ). They did later venture into Garmin’s other c£1k watches before expanding to the full Garmin range. I know when I spoke to them before about the widely-leaked MARQ 2 release, they refused to give anything away, even when it was just a couple of hours before the embargo and they already had stock (as I found out later). No, I think this leak was just that – an admin accident; Occam’s razor.

It’s interesting to note that despite the passing of the embargo, other UK retailers are now taking pre-orders for the I3, but it still doesn’t appear on Jura’s webpage. A bit of me wonders if Garmin is punishing them for the leak, but I don’t think they’d actually want to risk the relationship.
