Q: What does Stryd Speed cost?

Pricing for hardware and the subscription hasn’t been announced. Stryd says details go to the early-access list first, ahead of launch.

Q: Has Stryd Speed's accuracy been independently verified?

Not yet. Stryd’s validation claims, covering laboratory measurement and laser gate comparisons across track, turf, and grass, haven’t been confirmed by an independent test, and Stryd hasn’t published the underlying study or dataset.

Question 1

Does Stryd Speed need new hardware?

Accepted Answer

No. It runs on the existing Stryd Duo 5.0 pod. Duo 5.0 owners can use their current hardware to access it.

Question 2

Do endurance runners need to switch to Stryd Speed?

Accepted Answer

No. Stryd says the current Stryd Membership best serves existing users, and Speed is built specifically for sprint and team-sport training.

Question 3

What does Stryd Speed cost?

Accepted Answer

Pricing for hardware and the subscription hasn’t been announced. Stryd says details go to the early-access list first, ahead of launch.

Question 4

How is Stryd Speed different from regular Stryd metrics?

Accepted Answer

Regular Stryd centres on running power, leg spring stiffness, and endurance training load. Stryd Speed reports sprint-specific metrics instead: peak velocity, ground reaction force, impact velocity, and full left/right step data, none of which appear in the standard Stryd metric set.

Question 5

Does Stryd Speed require GPS?

Accepted Answer

No. The system works without GPS, so accuracy doesn’t degrade indoors, in a hallway, or under a stadium roof.

Question 6

Can one coach track a whole team with Stryd Speed?

Accepted Answer

Yes. One iPhone or iPad manages an entire roster, with each pod recording independently per athlete, and the app supports both individual athletes and full squads at once.

Question 7

How long does the Stryd Speed pod battery last?

Accepted Answer

Stryd says the battery lasts a full training week between charges so that you can charge it alongside the rest of a team’s kit rather than mid-session.

Question 8

Has Stryd Speed's accuracy been independently verified?

Accepted Answer

Not yet. Stryd’s validation claims, covering laboratory measurement and laser gate comparisons across track, turf, and grass, haven’t been confirmed by an independent test, and Stryd hasn’t published the underlying study or dataset.

Question 9

Which sports is Stryd Speed built for?

Accepted Answer

Track and field, football, soccer, lacrosse, and basketball, spanning youth development through professional and Olympic level, plus strength and conditioning and return-to-play use.

Question 10

Does Stryd Speed work without a phone nearby?

Accepted Answer

Yes. Data logs to onboard storage during the session so that training can run without a paired phone, and everything syncs to the portal once the mobile app reconnects.
