Another great set of updates from Coros. Nothing blindingly new but a great package of catch-up features for both Dura and the watches. These were announced last month and are now live

 

Key Watch Features

  • Custom Accessory Names: Easily identify paired accessories and sensors by adding custom names, making finding the exact device you need simpler.
  • Low Battery Warning: Stay informed about low battery levels for paired accessories during or after activities, ensuring you’re always ready for your next workout.
  • Group Tracking Updates: Improved group tracking displays the real-time location of teammates, with first and last initials for quick identification, and includes a new feature for setting meet-up locations.

  • Turn-by-Turn Alerts: Add turn-by-turn alerts as a data field to your activity profiles for seamless navigation during workouts.
  • Temperature Units: Customize your temperature units independently from distance, weight, and speed in both your app and device settings.
  • Floor Climb Mode: Track total stairs climbed during workouts (excluding gym machines).
  • Superlock for Outdoor Climb Mode: Enhanced lock functionality prevents accidental unlocking during climbing activities.

Additional Updates

  • The power-to-weight ratio is now displayed for cycling activities.
  • Accidentally deleted activities can be recovered via the new Recycle Bin.
  • Overlay COROS data onto DJI camera footage.
  • Set target distance or time for workouts, with automatic stop once the goal is reached.
  • View the distance on your activity route map as the X-Axis for accurate elevation visualization.
  • Improved workout interval labelling for better performance analysis.
  • Check the charging status directly through the COROS app.
  • Enhanced multisport mode with up to 10 activities.
  • Indoor Cardio now tracks distance based on step cadence data.
  • Lock/unlock your watch easily via the Digital Dial when Auto-Lock mode is active.
  • Add Maps as a data page for outdoor activities.
  • New Sleep mode automatically silences notifications and displays a sleep watch face.
  • Bulk export of activity files via COROS Training Hub.

DURA Feature Update: January 2025

The January 2025 DURA update introduces a revamped user interface and new features to further elevate the COROS DURA as your ultimate training and adventure companion.

New Features

  • New Homepage Layout: A refreshed homepage now features key data, including time, date, and ambient temperature, with your scheduled workout appearing prominently.
  • New Chart Interfaces: Activity pages now include visually enhanced charts for power, speed, heart rate, and cadence data.
  • Navigation Page Updates: Add up to three custom data fields to your navigation page in full-screen mode, offering a more comprehensive view while following your route.

  • Turn Alert Data Field: Add Turn-by-Turn alerts as a data field to your activity pages for real-time route guidance.
  • Low Battery Warning: Receive notifications when accessory battery levels are low during or after activities.
  • New Data Fields: Power-to-weight ratio (w/kg) and CORE body temperature integration (requires third-party accessory).
  • Strava Live Segments: Track your performance on Strava Live Segments directly from your COROS device.
  • Custom Accessory Names: Easily manage your paired accessories by adding custom names.
  • DJI Integration: Overlay COROS data such as GPS, elevation, route details, and speed directly on your DJI footage.

  1. Interesting.
    As a triathlete, how would you rate the pertinence of Coros watches ?
    For singles sports tracking, I don’t think of big missing features. GPS is good for running, there’s wrist power or Stryd compatibility, routes, profile.
    Cycling…is always better with a head unit, but at least Coros watches can pair with power meters…etc…and many sensors of same type (looking at you Suunto….).
    Lap swimming looks okay, drill mode, and lap button to alternate between swims and rests. No automatic rest detection AFAIK ?

    Then in multisports ? Can we create a custom multisport mode ? (Kickr-run-Kickr-run for instance? )

    Are there big issues I’m missing ? Or gaps?
