Stability and Instability
Earlier iterations of myWhoosh were relatively unreliable. However, the later 3.x version in 2024 was generally good and this coincidentally further improved with my introduction to the ecosystem. I’ve experienced few problems on iMAC, iOS, Win 11, and tvOS platforms.
Version 5 has some significant new technical features, as shown below, and this seems to have introduced a series of instabilities, which are widely reported on Reddit and elsewhere.
Mywhoosh 5.0.0 – Detailed changes
MyWhoosh has confirmed these changes and includes findings by me (cite this site as the source to avoid confusion)
Enhanced graphics and improved performance across all devices. MyWhoosh appeared to previously use the Unreal graphics engine 4.0, now upgraded to 5.0
Frame Rate Selection: Users can now choose between 30 FPS and 60 FPS based on their device capability and performance preferences. 60fps is only available on systems that myWhoosh deems to be able to support it.
Workout Accuracy Improvements: TSS calculations have been corrected to ensure accurate performance tracking during workouts.
Minor UI Improvements

A significant Technical Performance Update. Few New Features
It seems strange to call this v5…v4.5 seemed more sensible to me. Oh well, I guess the number makes little difference to how well it performs.
In my, albeit limited, tests so far, I’ve used MyWhoosh on a high-spec Win 10 PC, and the 60fps feels smoother. A nice-to-have rather than a game-changer, but a competitive catch-up move to some of the capabilities Zwift offers.
still feels bad that there is not an unlimited option to begin with. if I want to run the game at 1000fps on my 9800x3d/4090 with a 500hz display, I should be able to without restrictions

Can Mywhoosh upload rides into the Garmin Connect with all collected training statistics, like Rouvy does?
you would have to do it manually
