Garmin tactix 9, tactix 9 Ballistics Edition and Enduro 4 have been leaked by name in a Russian regulatory filing. Every other Garmin model still to come is tracked on the Garmin rumors and release radar.
When might tactix 9 launch?
Garmin’s tactix line has consistently launched behind its Fenix counterpart. Tactix 8 went on sale on 21 February 2025, almost six months after Fenix 8 launched on 27 August 2024. Applying the same gap to Fenix 9‘s 25 August 2026 launch puts tactix 9 on course for around February 2027.
Will tactix 9 be a stripped-down Fenix 9 AMOLED?
Every tactix generation so far has shipped as a tactical variant of the base Fenix. Rather than a stripped-down version, it has historically carried an additional set of tactical features with the Ultralight Solver, making it, technically speaking, the top of the Fenix line. More recently, it had an AMOLED display where available.
This time, two broad possibilities emerge for tactix 9, driven by Fenix 9 and Fenix 9 Pro launching together. The Fenix 9 Pro brought satellite messaging, and tactix’s adventure and military audience would benefit most when operating off-grid. By contrast, many of Garmin’s military and government customers operate on bases that restrict satellite or cellular-transmitting devices, which argues against including any such comms capability.
Will tactix 9 Ballistics Edition be a stripped-down Fenix 9 Solar?
Historically, the Ballistics edition has an Applied Ballistics Elite Solver and links to the AB Synapse companion app. The current version also has solar charging and, therefore, a MIP display, in line with its Fenix sibling model

Quick answers
When will Garmin tactix 9 launch?
Garmin’s tactix line has consistently launched about six months after its Fenix counterpart. Applying that gap to Fenix 9’s 25 August 2026 launch points to tactix 9 arriving around February 2027.
Will the Garmin tactix 9 have satellite messaging?
It’s unclear. Fenix 9 already sells with and without satellite messaging within the same generation, and tactix 9 is likely to follow that split rather than include satellite as standard, since many military and government users operate on bases that restrict satellite-transmitting devices.
What did the Garmin tactix 9 leak reveal?
Only the product names: tactix 9, tactix 9 Ballistics Edition and Enduro 4. The leak carries no specifications, hardware details or photos.
