Keeping score in padel is hard. There are four players, and the rallies are fast. The serve moves between all four players and switches sides every point. The deuce rule also changes from club to club: advantage, golden point, or Star Point, the format the FIP introduced for 2026. Lose track halfway through a set and the next two minutes go on working it out, often with an argument.
Padel Smash is a Garmin Connect IQ app built to fix this. It keeps the score on your wrist using padel’s real rules, saves every match to Garmin Connect, and sends the score to a live web scoreboard that anyone can open in a browser and hear read out loud.
It is made for padel players who wear a Garmin, and for the partners, opponents and friends who would rather hear the score than ask for it. Padel Smash comes from Multipassionate, an independent Garmin developer in the Netherlands. Its founder, Saeed, plays padel himself, and the worked example below is his own tournament.
The problem: one score, four players, one wrist
The Connect IQ store already has padel scoring apps, and the better ones handle golden point and Star Point. Tapping a watch after each point is easier than remembering the score through a long rally. But a watch app only helps one player out of four. The score stays on one wrist, and the partner, the opponents and anyone waiting for the court still have to ask for it, usually when the score is in dispute.
The apps also vary a lot. Some pack in so many menus and options that they are hard to use on a small screen mid-match. Some look dated. Others are so basic that they leave the hard part of keeping score to the player.
A padel player with a Garmin has five simple questions:
- Does it know our deuce rule?
- Does it know who serves, and from which side?
- Is it easy to use in the middle of a rally?
- Does the match show up in Garmin Connect with the score and useful stats?
- Can the other three players see the score without leaning over my wrist?
Padel Smash answers yes to all five. The last answer is the one that separates it from the other apps, because it takes the score off the wrist.
How Padel Smash works on Garmin Connect IQ
TL;DR: Padel Smash is a Connect IQ app for Garmin watches. You score each point with one button press. The app knows padel’s rules, including golden point, Star Point, tie-breaks, Pro Sets, Mexicano and Americano, and it shows who serves and from which side. Every match saves to Garmin Connect as a Padel activity, with the score and the serve and return stats for each set. A 6-digit PIN links the watch to a live scoreboard at padelsmash.app, which calls out every score through a phone, tablet or Bluetooth speaker. It is a one-off purchase with no subscription.

Simple by design
Padel Smash was built to sit in the middle: every rule padel needs, without the clutter. Starting a match takes two choices: Normal Padel or Mex/Am, and who serves first. During play there is one clear screen, with your score in green and your opponents’ in red, and two buttons to change it. Everything else waits in the menu.
Controls
Press Down when your team wins a point and Up when your opponents do. Back undoes the last point, and Start opens the menu. Hold Up to switch the serving team without restarting the match.
On touchscreen watches you can also swipe or tap. Swipe up or tap the lower half for your team, and swipe down or tap the upper half for your opponents. Swipe left to open the menu and right to undo. Switching off Touch Gestures in the settings stops a stray touch from scoring a point, and the menu still works by touch.

Rules
Normal Padel mode scores 15, 30, 40. At 40-40 you choose how the game is decided: unlimited deuces, Star Point (two deuces, then a golden point), Silver Point (one deuce, then a golden point) or a straight Golden Point. You can change this mid-match. Sets are Standard (6 games, tie-break at 6-6) or a Pro Set (9 games, tie-break at 8-8), and you can switch the tie-break off. New Set ends the current set and starts the next one at any time.

Mexicano and Americano
A second mode, Mex/Am, handles these social formats. You choose how a round ends (first to the limit, or Combined Points), the point limit (16, 21, 24, 32 or 40) and how often the serve rotates (every 2, 4 or 6 points). Moving to the next round takes one menu action. All these settings are in the Scoring menu.

Serve guide and undo
Padel Smash follows the serve order in the FIP’s Rules of Padel. A mini court on the screen shows who is serving and from which side. A green ball marks the first server, and a yellow ball the second. Back undoes up to 15 points, stats included, so a disputed point can be fixed without disturbing anything else.
Battery, display and match history
The app is built to be light, so it uses little battery, even on older watches. A heart rate zone gauge sits along the top of the screen, and you can change the court colour. After the match, a summary shows every set and the total match time. The watch also keeps your last 10 matches, set by set, with how long each one took.
The live scoreboard and score announcer
The watch gives you a 6-digit match PIN. Enter it at padelsmash.app on any phone, tablet or laptop, and a live scoreboard opens. It shows the same score as the watch and reads every point out loud. Each tap on the watch updates the page straight away, so everyone on court hears the same score at the same time.

Setup takes five steps:
- Install Padel Smash from the Connect IQ store.
- On the watch, go to Settings, then Connect Speaker, and turn on Live Broadcast. The 6-digit PIN appears under Launch on Phone, and the watch also shows it when a match starts.
- On a phone, tablet or laptop, open padelsmash.app, enter the PIN and tap Connect to Match.
- Turn on Sound and Screen On. Sound reads out the score, and Screen On keeps the display awake.
- Score on the watch as usual.
Make it loud
The announcer plays through the phone or tablet’s speaker, or any Bluetooth speaker connected to it. With a speaker on the bench, the whole court hears every call.
No account, no app
Spectators only need the PIN. There is nothing to sign up for and nothing to install. A partner at the bar, a coach or a friend at home can follow the match in a browser.
Share the result
Share Result turns the final score into a result card. It downloads as a PNG, ready for social media.
The phone has to stay courtside
A Garmin watch has no internet connection of its own. The watch sends each point over Bluetooth to the Garmin Connect app on the player’s phone, which passes it on. That phone needs to stay courtside, within range. The scoring itself runs on the watch, so the match is recorded either way.
Worked example: seven sets in Bali on a Forerunner 965
The numbers below are Saeed’s own. They come from a club tournament in Bali on 29 September 2026, scored on a Forerunner 965. Each round was one set of up to 6 games, with a tie-break at 6-6 and Star Point switched on. Most rounds ended before either team got that far. Only one set reached six games, and none went to a tie-break.
The whole tournament ran as one Padel Smash match. When a round ended, New Set closed the set at whatever the score was and started the next one at 0-0, with no need to restart the app. Seven rounds added up to 2 h 4 min 12 s of play.
Before the first round, Saeed opened padelsmash.app on his phone and entered the PIN from the watch. He left the phone on the bench, connected to a JBL Bluetooth speaker.
| Set | Score | Duration | Points won on serve | Points won on return |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| 1 | 4-0 | 20:30 | 10 | 9 |
| 2 | 3-4 | 17:07 | 9 | 11 |
| 3 | 6-1 | 16:36 | 12 | 14 |
| 4 | 2-4 | 19:40 | 8 | 10 |
| 5 | 4-1 | 17:32 | 9 | 12 |
| 6 | 4-2 | 14:07 | 9 | 10 |
| 7 | 2-3 | 18:40 | 7 | 7 |
| Total | Sets 4-3, games 25-15 | 2:04:12 | 64 | 73 |
The set scores and times come from the watch’s match history. The serve and return points come from the Garmin Connect laps, one lap per set.
The phone called out every point through the JBL speaker, while the watch showed the same score. The calls are short. A score sounds like “40, 30”. Then come “Deuce”, “Advantage” with the team’s name, “Golden Point” when one point decides the game, and “Game” with the winner’s name.
Set 3 was the only set to reach six games, won 6-1 in 16 min 36 s. It also had the most points won on serve (12) and on return (14). Across the tournament, Saeed’s team won four sets out of seven and 25 games to 15. They won 73 points on return and 64 on serve.
In Garmin Connect, the tournament shows up as one Padel activity with seven laps, one per set. The match score is under the activity’s stats, along with heart rate for each lap and the serve and return points for each set.

The app works on button-only and touchscreen watches, each with its own controls. On the two-colour Instinct 3 Solar screen, the coloured result bands look the same, but the scores and labels still show correctly.
Price
Padel Smash is bought once in the Connect IQ store, with no subscription. It costs €9.99 at the time of writing, and the store shows the price in local currency. The live scoreboard and announcer are included. Multipassionate gives a full refund to anyone who contacts the developer within 24 hours of buying.
Training for padel with Smash Coach
Padel Smash records matches. For getting fitter for padel and avoiding injuries, Multipassionate also makes Smash Coach, a fitness training app. It plans training around the sports a player already plays. It has its own padel onboarding, and its sessions run on the same Garmin, next to the Padel Smash matches.
The rest of the Smash family
Padel Smash is one of five scoring apps from Multipassionate, each for a different racket sport: Padel Smash, Tennis Smash, Pickleball Smash, Badminton Smash and Ping Pong Smash. Each one follows its own sport’s rules. Badminton Smash, for example, uses the BWF Laws, service courts included. All five save matches to Garmin Connect and come with the same live PIN scoreboard and announcer.
The family also includes Hybrid Smash for HYROX. It paces and splits every HYROX station in real time, with a one-tap race timer and a full race simulation. All the apps are listed at multipassionate.app/apps.

That includes Forerunner 165, 255, 265, 570, 965 and 970, the Fenix 7 and 8 series, Epix, Venu 2 to Venu 4 and X1, vivoactive 5 and 6, and Instinct 3. The Connect IQ store lists every compatible model and checks yours before it installs.
How do you keep score in padel on a Garmin watch?
With Padel Smash, you press Down when your team wins a point and Up when your opponents do. The app works out the game, set and serve from there, and Back undoes up to 15 points. Touchscreen watches can also use taps and swipes.
Does Padel Smash support Star Point and golden point scoring?
Yes, at 40-40 the player chooses between unlimited deuces, Star Point, Silver Point and a straight Golden Point, and the choice can be changed mid-match. Star Point plays two deuces and then a golden point.
Does Padel Smash score Mexicano and Americano?
Yes, Mex/Am mode covers both formats. The player sets how a round ends, a point limit of 16, 21, 24, 32 or 40, and a serve rotation of every 2, 4 or 6 points.
Does Padel Smash save matches to Garmin Connect?
Yes, every match saves to Garmin Connect. Newer watches save it as a Padel activity and older ones as a general activity named Padel, with the same data. The match score sits under the activity’s stats, and each set is a lap with the points won on serve and on return.
Do spectators need an account or an app to follow the Padel Smash live scoreboard?
No, they do not. The scoreboard at padelsmash.app only needs the 6-digit PIN from the watch, and it works in any browser on a phone, tablet or laptop. The announcer plays through the device’s speaker or a Bluetooth speaker.
Does the Padel Smash live scoreboard work without a phone nearby?
No, the live scoreboard needs the player’s phone courtside. A Garmin watch has no internet connection of its own, so it sends each point over Bluetooth to the Garmin Connect app on the phone. The scoring runs on the watch, so the match is still recorded if the phone is out of range.
Is Padel Smash a subscription?
No, Padel Smash is bought once in the Connect IQ store. It costs 9.99 euros at the time of writing, and the store shows the price in local currency. The live scoreboard and announcer are included.
