Ravemen has three new front lights that tidy up yoru handlebars and put out far more light than the Ravemen FR300 I use.
- Design: FR1000 is the novel one. The light and the computer mount are a single unit, so your Garmin clips straight onto the light and nothing else goes on the bars. The light and Garmin/Wahoo slide off the mounts easily for coffee-stop safety. FR1500SE and FR500 hang under your existing out-front mount, as FR300 does, which looks cool. I have mine on top, which looks less cool.
- Power: FR500 puts out 500 lumens, FR1000 1,000 and FR1500SE 1,500, against 300 from FR300. The two bigger lights are proper night lights.
- Battery: FR1500SE runs its daytime flash for up to 48 hours, or 60 on its lowest setting. FR500 keeps working while it charges over USB-C, and all three switch themselves off when the bike stops.
What it means for us
A light and a bike computer usually mean two brackets and a cluttered front end. FR1000 removes the second bracket entirely, which makes it the one to buy if looks matter as much as light.
RAVEMEN FR1000
1000 lumen light that is also your computer mount: one unit on the bars, with your Garmin clipped on top.
RAVEMEN FR1500SE
1500 lumen front light that mounts under your Garmin or Wahoo, keeping your bars clean.
RAVEMEN FR500
500 lumen front light that tucks under your bike computer for a tidy cockpit.
