Expert opinion
These are the power meter pedals I trust most. After six months of weekly use the Assioma PRO MX became my main source of power data, and in over a decade of riding with power, Favero has proved the most reliable and consistent brand I have used. The three PRO models share one spindle: the RS takes Shimano SPD-SL cleats, the RL takes Look Keo cleats and the MX takes Shimano SPD cleats for off-road. Only the pedal body and cleat differ.
Favero claims ±1% accuracy and measures the left and right legs separately. With no external pod the Q-factor is close to a normal road pedal, and installation and calibration are simple. My own comparisons against trainers and other power meters were less conclusive than other reviewers’ results, but nothing I found calls the accuracy into question. The limitations are small. Crank length is set manually, which is awkward if you swap pedals between bikes with different cranks. Oval chainrings can make power read high. The charger is a proprietary magnetic clip. Cheaper rivals now exist, but Favero is less well known and carries less trust by default.
