Expert opinion
GPS accuracy tested as very much average, lagging Garmin Epix 2 and Apple Watch Ultra in tfk’s standard 10-mile test, with a track that was periodically off-course and often jagged, despite a new Sony chipset reading up to 32 satellites across four constellations simultaneously in single-band mode. The new LifeQ optical heart rate sensor was inconsistent, accurate on some sessions and not on others. A minor bug failed to pick up a manually set elevation start point in testing, though elevation tracked correctly once the activity was moving. The watch has no onboard maps, relying on bearings, POIs and breadcrumb routes instead.

- Running power now calculated on-watch, without requiring a Stryd pod (Stryd still supported and prioritised when paired)

- Redesigned interface with new fonts, colours and customisable widgets
- MIL-STD-810 durability accreditation

Features
Full feature detail is covered on the Suunto specifications index.
Running power
Running power is calculated directly on the watch, without requiring an external sensor. Stryd remains supported and takes priority as the power source when paired.
Sports modes
- Snorkelling and Mermaid dive modes
- Gravel Cycle mode
- Structured workout support, including third-party training plan integration
Navigation
No onboard maps. Navigation relies on bearings, saved POIs and breadcrumb route following. An avalanche risk overlay and surface-type map layer are available in the companion app, not on the watch.
