Every year
the best app is awarded by Garmin for each of these categories BEST WATCH FACE; BEST WEARABLE SMART APP; BEST EDGE APP and BEST APP FOR AN ACTIVE LIFESTYLE.
Best New Watch Face 2020
The choice here is one of these three watch faces and each was created in 2019.
SHN Tactical is announced as the winner and has over 114,000 downloads. Developer SHN has produced a total of 11 similar watch faces.
Best Wearable Smart App 2020
The criteria here include the fact that this app must be OUTSIDE OF THE FITNESS use case. Hence the three original nominees offer, perhaps, lesser-used kinds of functionality.
Widget Compass+ is the winner and has over 31,000 downloads and is another winning offering from developer SHN. User reviews are also highly complementary.
Best Edge App 2020
As well as having to work on an Edge bike computer, the winner demonstrated “unique uses of Connect IQ“.
Rain & Wind is the winner and has 13,000 downloads so far. It offers a handy combination of ride and weather info
Best App For an Active Lifestyle
Locus Map is the winner in this category and has over 20,000 downloads. It is the only app so far by developer WearSoft who describes the app thus “Navigate yourself with your Garmin on a whole new level! Connect it with Locus Map, one of the best outdoor navigation apps for Android. Enjoy route planning on a big screen of a smartphone and show maps (even on most non-map devices), navigate, track your activities or even play geocaching with Garmin.” Locus Map is more than just a pretty icon and a deserved winner.
