Amazfit is Coming: New Partnership with Stryd Signals Big Intentions for the Future

As an international age-group triathlete who has completed over 10,000km of Stryd-powered runs, my power metrics often outshine heart rate and GPS pace by helping to better moderate my efforts.

On September 30, 2025, Amazfit announced a partnership with Stryd, bringing the same running power metrics to the Amazfit Balance 2. I’m excited—this collaboration makes precision running tech significantly more affordable to lots more people.

Affordable Precision for Every Runner

The Balance 2 directly integrates Stryd’s metrics—power, form power, leg spring stiffness, ground contact time—on your wrist. Stryd Duo users get left/right balance data, revealing stride asymmetries to improve efficiency and reduce injury risk.

Customizable data screens on the Amazfit let you have, for example, a full screen to show your running efficiency metrics or a hybrid screen where you mix pace, heart rate, and power to pace against the right one at the right time in your training.

Amazfit plans to extend Stryd compatibility to the T-Rex 3 and 3 Pro.

Why Power-Based Training Works

Power measures effort consistently, unaffected by hills or weather. In my last half-marathon, Stryd’s data helped me perfectly pace some undulating hills, saving energy for a slightly stronger finish. It was the same last weekend on a regular 5K parkrun, where Stryd helped me pace according to the changing surface conditions.

The Balance 2 displays metrics like vertical oscillation to refine form and boost efficiency. While those metrics can be hard to act on every day, they can be a great way to track improvements in your technique over a season.

Training for a 5K or a marathon? Precision data helps runners of all abilities to progress.

Amazfit’s Edge

By partnering with Stryd, Amazfit is starting to meet some of the more advanced challenges incumbent brands like Garmin and Coros pose. Amazfit offers a compelling, feature-rich alternative to the big brands, often at a fraction of the price.

Then, unlike Apple or Garmin, which use third-party Stryd apps, the Balance 2’s native integration simplifies setup. Just pair, configure your screens and…run!

How to Start

Update your Balance 2’s firmware via the Zepp app and pair it with a Stryd pod from Stryd’s store. You can get the Balance 2 at Amazfit’s website or Amazon but it might be worth waiting for a month or so until Black Friday which may bring 10-20% off Stryd pods or memberships!

Take Out: A Boost for Runners or a Boost for Amazfit?

This partnership is a reputational boost for Amazfit, for sure. The company’s name doesn’t always sound like a serious contender as a competent running watch maker, so partnering with Stryd adds credibility to Amazfit’s running aspirations.

From Stryd’s perspective, the benefits from the partnership are different but complementary. Stryd partners with all the larger watch companies, so you could argue it was Amazfit’s turn next! More seriously, by partnering with a popular but low-cost brand like Amazfit, Stryd will get more access to a larger part of the budget market.

One question remains for Stryd. Will the novice, budget end of the running market be interested in metrics that are harder to understand than simple speed/pace or heart rate?

  1. I’m still stoked at what those brands (Huawei, but especially Amazfit) manage to do. Their lack of brand recognition is something probably saving Coros, Polar, Suunto and Garmin lots of sells…but for how long ?
The balance 2 looks really really good – if GPS/usability are good…
I’m even tempted to try one, just for the sake of it 🙂
