
Twenty-two of the eighty peri/menopause apps assessed in a recent academic review now pull data from a consumer wearable. Garmin, Oura, Whoop, Polar, Fitbit, and Withings all supply heart rate, HRV, skin temperature, and sleep data to third-party symptom-tracking apps. Not one of those brands has a published clinical trial validating that data for perimenopause specifically. The peer-reviewed evidence in this space belongs to smaller, single-purpose products instead, simply: a wrist-worn thermal device and a couple of standalone apps.

The review’s temperature-relief category stops at wrist-worn devices. It has no mention of whole-bed cooling systems, despite Eight Sleep publishing its own menopause-specific findings on cooling, HRV and deep sleep, a more direct intervention for night sweats than a device strapped to one wrist.
Only four of the eighty apps in the review report any published evaluation of effectiveness, and two examine long-term or clinically verified outcomes. Both are the app-only products in the table above, not a wearable brand.
