Amazfit’s latest software roadmap, which runs from October 2026 to February 2027, lists only one new feature for Active 2 Round, Active 2 Square and Bip 6, and the company says the watches don’t have enough memory for more.
This suggests that the brand needs to replace the cheaper end of its ranges. However, the company is clearly aiming upmarket at the other end of its range. It needs to turn to profit and sees the way to that by selling higher-margin devices. The company’s ecosystem is in a decent place, and it could achieve that. But then do they abandon the entry-level?
- The only roadmap entry for the three watches is iOS Notification Forwarding for iPhone owners in the European Union, due in November.
- The October, December, January and February columns for Active 2 and Bip 6 are empty.
- On its software updates page, Amazfit calls them old products and says that, because of hardware memory limitations, it can only support the most critical functions and optimisations shown on the roadmap.
- Amazfit names map optimisation, route navigation, Training Calendar and training courses as examples of new functions these watches will not get.
- Over the same months, the flagship row covering Balance 3, Balance Ultra, Cheetah 2 Pro, Cheetah 2 Ultra and the T-Rex 3 range gets pool swimming drills, automatic HYROX transitions and a new cycle tracking prediction algorithm in October alone.
- Amazfit says all roadmap content and timelines can change without notice, and that some features are not disclosed in advance.
What it means for Active 2 and Bip 6 owners
The watches will keep doing what they do today, but owners should not expect the newer navigation, map and structured training tools that Amazfit is adding to its other watches. Amazfit’s note covers new functions and does not say that any existing feature will be withdrawn.
Anyone who wants Training Calendar, training courses or the latest route navigation will need a newer model such as Active Max, which has its own entries on the same roadmap. The Active Max review covers what that watch does, and the Amazfit update policy explains how long Zepp Health supports each model.
