STRAVA GPS Location Added to Posts in the Feed
STRAVA has just added some more new features for all users including NON-subscribers…yay!
Today sees the rollout of an improved automatic location tag for your workout. This is a nice little usability improvement and saves the annoyance of opening up your workout and zooming out on the map to figure out exactly where it was, I have a similar annoyance that remains for post-workout SEGMENT ACHIEVEMENT where I just can’t always tell where they are without opening the full map.
In a nutshell, your workout is tagged with the location if possible and if you want some more detail on that…here we go:
- GPS activities for athletes will now automatically pull location into the activity details making it easier for athletes to recognise where activities are in the world without having to click into the activity map and zoom out.
- This will make it easier for athletes to get a better idea of where in the world their friends and family are exercising.
- Non-GPS activities (like indoor workouts) will not have location pulled.

Something different? Why not check out my Apple Watch 7 review…it’s much more awesome than you think and only a battery and two buttons away from destroying Garmin’s market share. Just sayin’
Awesome, now we need Covid to go away so that we can race in awesome locations.
i’ve got some bad news for you on that front…
I would love to see my location on activities. Eg, I knew I was near a run that someone else had done recently, and I was trying to work out which way they went.
It would be handy if I cold just tap on the map, and see my location relative to the route.
