Runna is only partly free. Without a subscription, you get Week 1 of any plan, plus run recording and your completed workouts, but you need Runna Premium for every session after Week 1. Runna also moved its beginner plans, New to Running, Return to Running, and Path to parkrun, to paid subscriptions on 5 June 2026; until then, they were fully free. Runners already on one of those plans can finish it. Full access is free only during a 7- to 30-day trial, depending on how you sign up.
Runna is owned by Strava and is sold on its own or bundled with a Strava subscription. A subscription unlocks every Runna plan, from a first 5K to an ultramarathon, plus strength sessions and the pace adjustments explained in how its plans adapt.
How much Runna costs
These are Runna’s listed prices in October 2026.
| Plan | UK | US | Eurozone |
|---|---|---|---|
| Monthly | £15.99 | $19.99 | €19.99 |
| Annual | £99.99 | $119.99 | €119.99 |
| Annual, per month | £8.33 | $9.99 | €9.99 |
| Strava + Runna bundle (annual only) | £119.99 | $149.99 | Not confirmed |
Paying annually halves the cost. Twelve months on the monthly plan costs £191.88 or $239.88, compared with £99.99 or $119.99 for a year paid upfront. Prices vary by country, so check the figure shown at checkout.
Free trials
There are four ways to try Runna without paying. Each trial becomes a paid subscription unless you cancel before it ends, and on iPhone, you must turn off auto-renew at least 24 hours before the period ends.
- Signing up through Runna’s website or app gives a 7-day trial on either the monthly or annual plan.
- A referral code from an existing Runna user extends the trial to two weeks.
- Buying Runna in the Strava app gives runners who have never trialled Strava or Runna a 14-day trial.
- The Strava + Runna bundle has a 30-day trial for new Strava users. It is rolling out on iPhone first, with Android to follow.
The Strava + Runna bundle
The bundle gives full Strava and Runna subscriptions for £119.99 or $149.99 a year. Strava sells and bills it; it is annual only; it cannot be combined with other discounts, and it is not part of Strava’s Family Plan.
Against buying both separately on annual plans, Strava at $79.99 and Runna at $119.99, the bundle saves about $50 a year. Compared with Runna alone, it costs $30 more, and the extra includes a Strava subscription. Bundle subscribers need to connect their Strava account in Runna; otherwise, Runna still shows them as a free user. The Strava + Runna subscription guide covers switching from an existing subscription.
Strava’s own training plans now run on Runna
Strava no longer lets runners create new running training plans on its website. New plans come from Runna, which isn’t included in the standard Strava subscription. Runners part-way through an old Strava plan can finish it, and Strava’s STRAVA-TP code adds an extra free week of Runna for runners who haven’t trialled Runna before.
Free alternatives
Garmin owners already have free adaptive plans in Garmin Coach, and Garmin’s daily suggested workouts set a session each day without any plan at all. Runna plans also work on any Garmin watch that supports Garmin Coach, so a Garmin owner can compare both on the same watch during a Runna trial. Free tools such as Intervals.icu and Golden Cheetah are covered in the guide to independent coaching platforms.
