Enduro 4 keeps Enduro 3’s battery life in every mode: 36 days as a smartwatch, or 90 days with solar, and 120 hours of GPS, or 320 hours with solar. The changes include Garmin Epic for multi-day efforts, grade-adjusted pace-based workouts, rolling pace, rucking workouts, and perspective view maps. Storage doubles to 64GB and the band changes to a ComfortFit fabric strap. Enduro 4 costs £799.99 / $899.99, and Garmin’s UK store now sells Enduro 3 for £699.99.
Every quoted figure comes from the official specs and is expanded on the Enduro 4 specifications and Enduro 3 specifications pages.

New features on Enduro 4
Garmin Epic
Garmin Epic records health and performance data from a multi-day activity and shows it in one view, which you can then review and share. A stage race, a multi-day hike or a long ultra with sleep stops is the kind of effort it is built for, and it is the most relevant addition for the athletes who buy an Enduro.
Grade-adjusted pace-based workouts and rolling pace
Enduro 3 shows grade-adjusted pace as a data field. Enduro 4 can also run a structured workout against it, so the pace target changes with the gradient and a hilly route no longer breaks the session. Garmin lists rolling pace alongside it as a second tool for judging effort on hills.
Stamina, lactate threshold and rucking
Garmin describes enhanced stamina metrics that show how endurance changes with fitness and training history, in addition to the Real-Time Stamina that both watches have. Lactate threshold is listed for Enduro 4 without the compatible accessory that Garmin requires on Enduro 3. Rucking moves from an activity with a pack weight entry to full rucking workouts, with pack weight that can be changed during the activity. This site’s rucking update explainer covers the detail.
Maps
Perspective view tilts the map to show the terrain ahead at zoomed-in levels. Garmin also describes the TopoActive maps on Enduro 4 as smoother and more intuitive, which is Garmin’s claim and has not been tested here. Both watches include Course Planner, ClimbPro, NextFork, Up Ahead, and dynamic round-trip routing.
Other additions
- Indoor rowing VO2 Max, FTP, power curve, lactate threshold and max heart rate, with a compatible rowing machine
- Mixed session multisport
- ArcheryX, which replaces the Archery profile
- Gaming Activity and GameOn app compatibility
Battery life is unchanged
Garmin publishes the same figure for both watches in every mode. The only difference on the sheets is a solar figure of 25 hours for activity with music on Enduro 4, where the Enduro 3 gives 22 hours and no solar figure. Garmin renamed the modes between the two watches, and the table uses the Enduro 4 names.
| Mode | Both watches | With solar |
|---|---|---|
| Smartwatch | Up to 36 days | Up to 90 days |
| Low Power Watch Mode | Up to 92 days | Unlimited |
| Activity Mode (Normal) | Up to 80 hours | Up to 144 hours |
| Activity Mode (Extended Battery) | Up to 120 hours | Up to 320 hours |
| Activity Mode (Max Accuracy) | Up to 60 hours | Up to 90 hours |
| Activity Mode (Max Battery) | Up to 210 hours | Unlimited |
| Expedition Mode | Up to 77 days | Unlimited |
The site’s sports watch battery life guide explains what the solar assumptions mean in practice.
Hardware changes
- Storage is 64GB, up from 32GB, which leaves more room for maps and music.
- The band is a ComfortFit fabric strap for wrists of 145-220mm. The UltraFit nylon band on the Enduro 3 fits wrists from 127mm, so smaller wrists are better served by the older band.
- It weighs 66g with the band, 3g more than the Enduro 3. The case alone is unchanged at 57g.
- The case, titanium bezel, Power Sapphire lens, 1.4-inch 280 x 280 MIP display, dimensions, sensors, multi-band GPS and connectivity are the same on both sheets.
Listed for Enduro 3 and absent from the Enduro 4 page
Garmin’s Enduro 3 page lists six items that do not appear on the Enduro 4 page at launch. Garmin has not said any of them were removed, and launch pages are sometimes incomplete.
- Hands-free voice control
- Quick workout
- Varia Vision compatibility
- YouTube Music
- WhatsApp through the Connect IQ app
- XC ski power
Will Enduro 3 get the new features?
Garmin has confirmed that Epic, Stamina Zones and the rucking and rowing updates will pass to the Fenix 8 series and other existing watches. Enduro 3 launched alongside Fenix 8 in August 2024, which makes it a likely recipient, but those features are on Garmin’s Enduro 4 page today and are not on its Enduro 3 page. Garmin’s guaranteed security updates for Enduro 3 also ended on 27 August 2026, and Enduro 4 is covered until 6 October 2028.
Which to buy
Enduro 3 owners gain nothing in battery, display, or sensors from Enduro 4, and some new features may reach their watch via an update. The case for replacing a two-year-old Enduro 3 rests on 64GB of storage and having Garmin Epic and the new workout types now.
For a new buyer, Enduro 4 costs £100 more than Enduro 3 at Garmin’s current UK prices. That buys the new features from day one, double the storage and two more years of guaranteed security updates. Enduro 3 has the same battery, the same maps and Course Planner, and the same Training Readiness and ECG app for less money. The wider Garmin range has no other watch that matches either of them for battery life, and the closest alternative is covered in Enduro 4 vs Fenix 9 Pro Solar.

Pointless. 2 years and nothing new. I dont know what Garmin is doing.
yes it seems very odd.
could this have been 3 pro instead? should it have included an inreach option?
