Strava Beefs Up Its Trail Features
The big growth area in sports at the moment is trail-based activities. Gravel biking is the most obvious one that gets the most PR coverage but trail walking/hiking and trail running are also experiencing significant growth.
Strava already has over 40 sport types and is now adding Trail Run, Gravel Ride, Mountain Bike and e-Mountain Bike to the list. But it’s not just a few note sports classifications as new trail-based features are also added.
Subscriber-only: Subscribers get access to a new feature that highlights trail start points and trail networks for their chosen trail activity. You can filter down the choice to those that meet your distance & elevation criteria.
Trail Insights are also added to include Route Difficulty, Community Completion Times, Historical Activity trends by month and time of day, and data visualizations of the gradient with all the supporting insight coming from Strava’s large global community.
Strava Subscribers also today get a 3-D map style to activity uploads, which will appear in their activity feeds.
