Another Oura Legal Victory – Ringconn and OMATE Pay Up
Oura, the original smart ring company, has ended two of its recent legal battles with competitors.
The company secured a licensing agreement in August, 2024 with Circular Ring and now has two more licensing agreements signed with RingConn and OMATE, as the two smaller companies effectively admit defeat.

Take Out
The Ringconn victory is a particularly important one for Oura. Many, including this site, see Ringconn as a credible lower cost competitor. Oura has now protected its inventions, added costs to Ringconn and will have made any new ring company think twice about entering the smart ring market.
The settlement of these three lawsuits adds further clarity, if it were needed, to Oura’s roadmap toward the smart tech domination of the finger.

Interesting development — Oura keeps setting strong legal precedents in the wearable tech space. It’s good to see intellectual property being respected, especially as competition in smart rings continues to grow. This case could shape how future innovators handle patents and licensing.
