Garmin Enduro 4 Leaked: First Details Emerge

Gadgets & Wearables has confirmed this site’s own findings in the latest Garmin Connect app, uncovering a mention of the Garmin Enduro 4. Here is what that likely means, based on what we know of the Garmin range.

What the Enduro range is

The Enduro is Garmin’s answer to one question: how long can a GPS watch last? The current Garmin Enduro 3 lasts over 30 days in standard GPS mode, and even longer with solar charging. It uses a traditional low-power MIP screen rather than the bright AMOLED displays now standard on the Fenix range. That screen technology draws far less power and allows solar cells to be included. The result is a watch built for ultra-distance running, multi-day mountain routes and anyone who cannot charge every few days.

Although internally categorised as a running watch in the Fitness division, think of it as a Fenix with the battery turned up to maximum.

When to expect it

Garmin has released a new Enduro every two years: Enduro 2 in August 2022, Enduro 3 in August 2024. An August 2026 launch would fit that pattern and is likely, given the nature of the leak. Specific device mentions in Garmin Connect code usually indicate a release is close.

What it is likely to cost

Garmin has followed a consistent pricing pattern across the Enduro line relative to the equivalent Fenix model:

Watch Launch Price Equivalent Fenix Fenix Launch Price Gap
Enduro 2 (2022) $1,099 Fenix 7X Sapphire Solar 51mm $999 Enduro $100 more
Enduro 3 (2024) $899 Fenix 7X Sapphire Solar 51mm $999 Enduro $100 less
Enduro 4 (2026?) ~$999 Fenix 8 Solar Power Sapphire 51mm $1,099 Enduro $100 less

The Enduro 3 broke from the Enduro 2 premium and came in $100 below the equivalent Fenix for the first time. If that gap holds, Enduro 4 lands at approximately $999.

What is likely to be new

The most probable addition is off-grid satellite messaging. Garmin added this to the Fenix 8 Pro last year, enabling two-way text communication without a phone signal. The Enduro is fundamentally an off-grid watch, and the absence of that feature from Enduro 3 was already a gap. It is the obvious upgrade for a watch bought by people who spend days beyond mobile coverage.

Solar charging will almost certainly return. A screen change to AMOLED would undermine the watch’s core battery advantage, so that seems unlikely.

Don’t expect entirely new internal components. The Enduro 4 will almost certainly be built on the Fenix 8 platform, in the same way the Enduro 3 was built on the Fenix 7 platform. For anyone upgrading from an Enduro 3, however, that is a full generational jump. The Fenix 8 platform brought several features the Enduro 3 never received:

  • Built-in microphone and speaker, for phone calls and voice assistant from the wrist
  • Dive capability to 40 metres, with full EN13319 certification
  • Touchscreen navigation
  • ECG heart rhythm monitoring
  • Satellite messaging and LTE connectivity (on the Fenix 8 Pro, and the likely headline addition for Enduro 4)

Frequently asked questions

What is the Garmin Enduro 4?

The Garmin Enduro 4 is the next generation of Garmin’s ultra-endurance GPS watch, designed for long-distance running and multi-day adventures where battery life is the priority. It has not been officially announced. The name appeared in a teardown of the Garmin Connect app in June 2026.

When will the Garmin Enduro 4 be released?

Garmin has not confirmed a release date. Based on the previous two-year release pattern, August or September 2026 is the most likely window.

How much will the Garmin Enduro 4 cost?

Garmin has not confirmed pricing. Based on the pattern of previous Enduro launches sitting $100 below the equivalent Fenix model, approximately $999 is the reasonable inference, set against the Fenix 8 Solar Power Sapphire 51mm at $1,099.

Will the Garmin Enduro 4 have satellite messaging?

Nothing has been confirmed. However, Garmin added satellite messaging to the Fenix 8 Pro in 2025, and the Enduro is positioned as an off-grid watch. It is a reasonable expectation for the new model.

  1. The Enduro 3 is built on the Fenix 8 platform and has an ECG. There’s an error in the description.
