Stryd Power-Based Workouts Now on COROS

Stryd Power-Based Workouts Now on COROS

More: Detailed STRYD Review

Stryd has introduced a significant update that enhances integration with COROS, allowing COROS owners to execute power-based workouts directly from their watches. The update automatically syncs structured workouts from Stryd to the COROS training calendar.

Executing Power-Based Workouts on COROS Watches

The update provides on-watch workout execution with real-time power feedback. Key features include:

  • Instant Power Feedback – Running power is displayed with colour-coded indicators (Blue, Green, and Red) to show effort below, within, or above the target zone.
  • Smart Alerts – If power levels drift outside the target range for an extended period, an alert signals the need for adjustment.
  • Workout Metrics Overview – Essential workout details, such as remaining time, lap distance, and repetitions, are visible.
  • Segment Transition Beeps – A countdown beep sequence helps signal the transition to the next workout segment.

Supported COROS Watches

Stryd’s structured workout support is available on several COROS models, including the VERTIX, APEX 2, APEX 2 PRO, PACE 2, and PACE 3.

How to Get Started

The update is now available. Follow Stryd’s setup instructions to enable workout syncing and begin executing structured power-based training sessions on their COROS devices.

Thoughts

The suspected spat between Coros and Stryd a few years ago seems forgotten as the companies work closely together here. In 2020, Coros strived to get credibility from Stryd integration, neglecting in its conversations to tell Stryd that it was introducing its power pod at the same time as the software features launched. Sadly, Coros had failed to do its homework before realising its running pod ran foul of Stryd’s patents. Tut. Tut. Credit to Coros – unlike similar companies in other industries, Coros did have the integrity to pull the power feature from its pod.

This latest update improves the integration between Stryd and COROS, offering a streamlined, relatively comprehensive approach to power-based run training. This integration was inevitable in some ways and now matches the excellent apps that Stryd has written for the Garmin and Apple Watch ecosystems.

Coros has still got a huge way to go to catch Garmin (and never will) but the bottom line is that Coros is an ever-more credible player in sports tech with a decent following of watch owners.
